Cowboy Themed Frame For Baby Boy

Cowboy Western Themed Frame
In this cowboy themed frame project, pre-cut foam shapes were glued to the frame to create a western style theme that suits the rocking horse shape. There is also a saddle made from a pattern traced on to foam sheets. You can use scrapbooking stickers as well that fits the theme.

A rope made from hemp cord typically used for jewelry making was added to tie in the theme. You can use any cord that you want as long as it looks like a rope. The western foam shapes have a sticky back but you can also use ones that do not have this. Just glue on the shapes instead.

To make this photo frame, you will need the following:

Materials:

Wooden rocking horse frame

Western fun foam shapes(sticky back or regular)

Dark and light brown foam sheets (sticky back or regular)
Hot glue or craft glue

Scissors
Pencil
Hemp cord or cotton cord

If you are using craft glue, follow the instructions on the bottle for drying times. Hot glue dries very quickly so you must place the items on the frame before the glue dries.

Instructions:

Step 1: Make or choose the fun foam shapes you will be using for the frame. Print out the pattern for the saddle here. Trace and cut out the shapes from the foam sheets. Saddle piece 2 and strap should be dark brown.

Step 2: Before assembling the saddle, arrange the foam shapes such as the cactus, cowboy boots or hat on the frame in the manner that you like.

Step 3: Apply glue to the foam shapes and place them on the frame and allow to dry. If using the sticky back shapes, just stick on and proceed with step 4.

Step 4: Using photo A as a guide, assemble the saddle as shown. Make sure that only one side of the back of the saddle is in place. For the rope, wrap the cord around your fingers a few times and tie the ends together. Secure with the strap piece by folding end under.

Step 5: Using photo B as a guide, once you have assembled the saddle, place on top of the frame as shown and wrap saddle back around frame so that it stands up slightly.

Step 6: The saddle should look as follows in photo C when you match it up with the corner of the photo.

Step 7: Place the stirrup under the frame as shown in photo D.

Step 8: Add any other final details and this will complete your cowboy themed frame.
